Our summer classes are offered to students entering grades 3 through 7 and are open to St Catherine’s parishioners that have completed their sacraments. Classes meet for approximately 30 hours and are held Sunday through Friday in the month of August. Students use the “Faith First” curriculum and work at a very accelerated pace, covering 5-6 chapters of material per day. Attendance every day is mandatory, as summer classes replace religious education for the school year.
We need approximately 15-20 adults to help make this program a success. For more information on how you can help please see the “catechist interest form.pdf” section. For more information about our summer program please contact Paula Mathieu at 327-5165 ext 115 or pmathieu@stcatherinesiena.org.
Summer classes for 2012 will be held the week of August 5th. Classes will start on Sunday and meet from 2-5 pm with a student Mass from 5-6 pm. Classes will continue to meet Mon-Fri from 8:30 am to 1 pm.
Class placement for summer students: We will be placing students in summer classes using a “lottery system.” You may mail in or drop off your summer registration forms along with your payment from April 14th through May 25th. Forms will be set aside until after that date and processed randomly. Summer classes are open to registered St. Catherine’s parishioners only. These classes are offered to all students in grades 3-7 who have celebrated the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. You will be contacted by June 8th if your child was NOT able to be placed in a summer class. Otherwise, you will receive a mailing by July 13th with your child’s classroom information.
