Through the initiative of Fr. Thomas Stanley, the Mary Garden was established here at St. Catherine’s of Siena Church in 1993.
A specially crafted bronze “Mary, Model of the Church” statue was installed in 1986, dedicated and liturgically blessed that summer by the Most Rev. Alfred Markiewicz, Bishop of the Kalamazoo Diocese.
Since the church addition in 2006, an extension of the garden has been added along with seating areas and a small pond where you can reflect and pray.
Members and or their families have adopted spots on the parish grounds to maintian. We also have a spring and fall clean up provided by volunteers. We welcome those who enjoy gardening to help maintain this beautiful area. If you are interested in helping to maintain our gardens please contact our office and we will set you up with a spot.
